Robin Hartshorne studied algebraic geometry with Oscar Zariski and David Mumford at Harvard, and with J.-P. Serre and A. Grothendieck in Paris. He is the author of "Residues and Duality", "Foundations of Projective Geometry", "Ample Subvarieties of Algebraic Varieties", and numerous research titles.

Hartshorne II.8.2A: For $S\subset B$ multiplicatively closed, $S^{-1}\Omega_{B/A}=\Omega_{S^{-1}B/A}$. If $R\subset A$ is multiplicatively closed and $R$ maps to invertible elements of $B$ , then $\Omega_{B/A}=\Omega_{B/R^{-1}A}$ . To clarify concepts on projective geometry, projective varieties and to supplement Hartshorne's reading, either from a complex geometry or purely algebraic point of view, the following long list of freely available online courses may provide you with the extra bits you need on specific topics (warning! most of them are more elementary than Hartshorne but some of them go beyond it or supplement it on other topics, … We use Hartshorne's classical textbook Algebraic geometry.

The goal of this book is to eventually provide a complete, correct, central set of solutions to the exercises in Hartshorne's graduate textbook "Algebraic Geometry". There are many exercises which appear in EGA and a secondary goal would be to have references to all of these.

“Robin Hartshorne is the author of a well-known textbook from which several generations of mathematicians have learned modern algebraic geometry since it first appeared in 1977. This introduction to deformation theory is based on his notes for a course he taught in 1979.

This page contains some notes I wrote while taking a course taught by Robin Hartshorne at UC Berkeley. Hartshorne lectured on sheaf cohomology and algebraic curves. You will also find my chapter II homework solutions here. Hartshorne 1977: Algebraic Geometry, Springer. Mumford 1999: The Red Book of Varieties and Schemes, Springer.
